Abstract:

Phasor measurement units are power system devices that provide synchronized measurements of real-time phasors of voltages and currents. The aim of this paper is to provide comprehensive survey on optimum phasor measurement unit (PMU) for power system placement .The different Algorithm used for the optimum PMU placement is discussed in detail.

Notes:

This short paper compares different phasor measurement unit (PMU) systems according to their power placement. The different algorithms used for the optimum PMU placement are discussed. They are related to their usefulness in power management.

How transparent will phasor measurement units be to anyone in the grid? I mean, if I have a power source such as solar panels at home, will I need a PMU meter?
